Emmeline and Sean - Stockcross

Being a wedding photographer gives you an unusal opportunity of attending many weddings as an impartial observer. I'm not 'friends' with either side; I haven't grown up with the Groom or know the parents yet I'm there, behind the scenes, from the first bridal preparations through to the last dance.

From this perspective you can see the relationships between the many parties and get an overall feel for the type of people they are, be it emotional, stoic or relaxed.

In Emmeline and Sean's case there was one overriding feeling - Love. Not just the soulmate kind of love that you see between Bride and Groom at weddings (there was however plenty of that!), but a genuine love and affection towards them both from everybody present.

Emm and Sean are the kind of people who instill that kind of feeling in all they meet and by the end of the day I felt like one of the family! It was quite possibly the most emotionally charged wedding I have ever attended and it was a priviledge to be a part of it.

So, to the day.

The wedding took place at St Mary's Church. A beautiful gem tucked away and dwarfed against the greatness of Douai Abbey which is next door.

From there we had the opportunity of attending Donington Castle for some Bride and Groom portraits. I love having the opportunity of taking the Bride and Groom away from everybody for a relaxed photoshoot. Donnington Castle is a local attraction and we certainly caused a stir with the number of people enjoying picnics!

From there the reception was at the homely Sutton Hall in Stockcross. Many members of the wedding party had helped with the preparations and weren't afraid to do their stint behind the bar as the evening wore on!

As I said, Love. It's a wonderful thing.

Laura and Chris - Oare

Relaxed - one word which perfectly sums up Laura and Chris' wedding.

The whole day was marked with Laura and Chris' laid back approach to life. The stroll to the church and Laura's star turn on the bumper cars being two standout moments!

It was a real family affair too with the reception being held at Chris' parent's house and his Dad spinning the discs all night!

Laura and Chris embraced and enjoyed their day - fully accepting of my style, they much preferred the unobtrusive approach than the more traditional group shots. This combined with their relaxed nature made it a joy to be a part of their day.
